Ruhe grimaced. Deep down, though, she knew it would come to this sooner or later. "No, they weren't. I'm... a shapeshifter." Her eyes immediately went down to the floor. "But... if you really want to know, I'll tell you my story... Very long though..."

At first Chloe was a little shocked at Ruhe's news but recovered quickly. "Oh, okay. I'll listen to your story, as much of it as you want to tell." She said giving Ruhe a reassuring smile.

(((lol How many cats can be loose in one RP? I'm loving how alive this thread is anyways, so it's fine. I figured that, as a co-founder of the site, I should post in it.)))
Molly sat alone in one part of the train, petting Noodles' orange fur. She heard her cat purr and smiled. "You like that, huh?" she said sweetly and quietly to her.
Her smile faded as she said in a slightly sad tone "At least I have some company now." One could probably tell that the usual brightness in her eyes had faded some like er smile had. She fell into thoughts as to why noone else was around her.

Ruhe sighed. She thought, *Well, I might as well tell somebody. I'm not sure how long I could hold this in anyways.* "Well, I'll start from the beginning... My mother was a pure-blood, and a shapeshifter like me. My father, on the other hand, was a Muggle. They were married for a short time before I was born. But I was a confusing baby. I never cried, and I was always slightly TOO aware, too sure of my movements. It didn't help that the color of my eyes was always changing, and sometimes my skin or hair would be different too..."
Ruhe looked down and her hands started to comb through one another, as they always did when she thought of this. She sighed. *This is the hard part*, she thought.

Chloe just sat there fully intereted in Ruhe's story. She figured that by sitting quietly it would be easier for Ruhe to continue. Unlike her parents she didn't have the same exact feelings towards those who aren't purebloods. So she showed little reaction to Ruhe being muggle born whereas many of her fellow Slytherins would have made a scene. She gave a nod to show that she heard what Ruhe said so far and waited for the rest.

Ruhe noticed Chloe's silence, and guessed at her interest. She had figured that, sooner or later, her secrets would spill. So Ruhe took a deep breath and continued. "Well, I guess you can imagine that my mother already had raised my father's interests in what she was doing, as of course she has her duties as a ministry witch. And after I was born, and he had noticed my oddities... He wanted answers. And he was going to get them one way or another." Ruhe stopped a moment to gauge Chloe's reaction.

Every once and a while during her story Chloe would nod to show she was still listening. At the last part Chloe's mouth opened slightly as if she was going to say something but decided against it. Instead ideas of what Ruhe's father did to get his answers flooded her mind, she couldn't help thinking the worst.

Ruhe knew what Chloe was thinking, and she wasn't completely wrong. Her father had been desperate for answers, and desperate men can do things they never thought they could... Ruhe continued, "He threatened my mother that he would leave unless he found out the truth. He also became obsessive over knowing exactly where my mother was at all times. And then, there was the day that everything just fell apart. Ruhe paused a minute, then continued. "My father kept a pistol in a box on the top shelf of the closet. I was 6 then, the year I showed my first signs of being a witch. " Well, as you can imagine, this pressured life had been going on for 6 years then, and my father had finally cracked. I think the thing that pushed him over the edge was my first sigon of magick, though he didn't understand that. I'll tell you after this what that first sign was. It was pretty amusing, actually." Here Ruhe stopped and gave a small, nostalgic smile. Then her face sobered and she continued. "My father had come home from work, and had found out what happened. He started to shout at my mother and then he pulled out the pistol. My 3 most vivid memories of that day were the first magick, the shining barrel of that pistol, and the look on my mothers face as she told him what he could not possibly believe. And, of course, he didn't believe her. All her talk of the witching world made him more furious. He thought she was covering up an affair or something of the like. " So... she showed him. She proved her magic. She pulled out her wand and produced a cat out of thin air... " "The next thing that happened will be in my nightmares forever. My father pulled raised that gun and shot himself. He just couldn't deal with what my mother was." Ruhe glanced up at Chloe from under her lashes. "I wish I could say that my mother and I are thick as thieves, but that would be lying. She watches me like I'm a time bomb about to explode. She raised her head and tilted it again, so catlike. "Do you want to hear what my first magick was?" Ruhe snickered a bit. "That's a much more cheerful story."

Chloe was in a slight state of shock over the events that Ruhe just told her. It wasn't exactly what she thought happened but it was still just as bad. I though losing you father was bad I couldn't imagine witnessing it. She thought Since Ruhe seemed a little eager to tell her the happy story so Chloe smiled and answered her. "I could use a cheerful story. So what was your fist magick?" Chloe asked rearranging herself in her seat.

Ruhe grinned and winked. "I wasn't exactly popular with the girls in my neighborhood. They, like my father, sensed something wrong about me. I was the subject of much teasing, and finally, when i was 6, it was too much for me. "My mother had taken me to the playground to play for a while. She got into a conversation with one of the other parents there. My mother had control over her shapeshifting, as I did not. I was over playing in the sandbox when some of the girls who loved to tease me came over. They were calling my things like "freak" and "monster", and quite frankly I was getting sick of it. "I felt the rage boil inside me, and felt my eyes changed to pure black. (That happens when I get angry.) All of a sudden, a wind began to whirl around me. The sand was picked up and tossed around too. I heard one of the girls scream and my anger turned to surprise. The wind stopped and I saw both of the girls' white dresses now brown with sand! Looking down, I saw that I was clean as I was when I first got dressed. "I began to laugh with relief, but even I could hear a slight hilarity in my voice. My mother heard me and, seeing the girls dirty and me clean, she pieced together what had happened. The girls' parents seemed to think that I had thrown sand on their "sweet little girls", however. Ruhe began to giggle. "Ah, I think that must have been one of the best moments in my life. I was never allowed to go anywhere near them again, though I can't say that was a bad thing! But of course, for me, there is always a black shadow that follows the light. In this case, the episode with my father. Ruhe shook her head. "But it was good while it lasted." She looked up to gauge Chloe's reaction yet again, and Ruhe grinned at the older girl.

Chloe couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the girls first experience with magick. "That's cool, I wish mine was that interesting." She said. During the whole conversation with Ruhe she was trying to keep the thought of what happened to her father out of her mind. But it slowly made it's way in, causing her facial expression to sadden a little. Usually when she thought about her father it made her eyes tear up but she wasn't going to allow that to happen here.

Ruhe was at first oblivious to the tears forming in Chloe's eyes. "So what was your first- " Then she saw the sadness pooling up in the girl's eyes and heard it in Chloe's thoughts. "What's the matter?" Ruhe was worried that she'd done something wrong and set her off, or offended her.

"Its. . . it's nothing I was just thinking of my father." She said bringing her hands up to her eyes and forcefully whiped away the tears before they could fall from her eyes.

Ruhe looked down. "Oh. If you don't mind me asking, what happened to him?" She noticed Chloe's forceful denial of her feelings in the swiftness of that swipe across her eyes to eradicate the tears. Ruhe reaced out tentatively, the kind of gesture that doesn't consciously happen, just what your heart tells you to do without consulting your mind.

Chloe took a deep breath before she spoke. She's never actually talked about it with anyone including her family, they all refused to talk about it. "He, well-" She stopped for a moment, thinking that she'd have to tell this relativly new person about her fathers ties with the Dark Lord. "Was one of the Dark Lords followers before the thing with the Potters she said quickly. "But after he fell, to stay out of Azkaban my father denied every accusation and-" she paused a little ashamed of her fathers actions. "gave up other death eaters. When the Dark Lord rose to power again, my father beg for forgivnes but-" She cleared her throat and whiped the forming tears away "But he wasn't forgiven but killed instantly." She said letting out a couple of soft sobs. That was the first time shes actually said it aloud, rather then just thinking about it.
